O ur current featured HI-Ys are HI-Ys that show how dedicated they are to the growth and goals of HI-Ys. Our first featured HI-Y is McClain HI-Y, Greenfield, Ohio. McClain HI-Y at the 2007 Ohio Fall Conference at Camp Willson, received their 32nd Honor HI-Y recognition. When asked what it takes to be an honor HI-Y, the response was "it takes a dedicated secretary to get everything in, however, it is not that hard and lots of fun." When Angie Barber, McClain’s advisor, was asked by Charlie Myers if it was difficult, her response was "No, just a lot of paperwork." McClain HI-Y along with McClain Jr. HI-Y went to Ohio’s Make a Difference Day on October 27, 2007 at Cave Lake. Our second Honor HI-Y is Wirt County HI-Y (WV). Wirt County HI-Y is a very active HI-Y committed to serving any way they can. This year at Fall Conference they brought 30 yellow drawstring nylon backpacks featuring the HI-Y logo to sell to raise money for YOC. They were so committed to selling these backpacks that they were able to sell all 30 of them at $8.00 each! Activities like this make Wirt County HI-Y a very special HI-Y. This year at Fall Conference they also received their 25th consecutive Honor HI-Y award. It is their drive that keeps them going year after year. | |||||
